Having previously worked at a Broward County Public School benefitting from MSP’s services I witnessed first hand the positive impact the school pantry program was having on students and families, the gap the program was meeting in our local community and the dedication of MSP’s staff and volunteers. MSP is the embodiment of a community-first, boots-on-the-ground organization that demonstrates the power of partnership building and community engagement to address social needs in our society.

MSP is so much more than just providing food—it’s about restoring dignity and giving families the power to make choices that work for them. I’ve always believed that access to fresh, nutritious food is a basic right, and knowing we’re able to offer children and families not just healthy food, but the freedom to choose what they want for their table, makes it deeply personal for me. It’s also the connection to the community that keeps me grounded.
Watching the kids light up when they see the fresh produce or hearing parents talk about how relieved they are knowing they have access to food that’s nutritious—that’s why I do this. This work is my passion, my purpose, and my promise: to ensure that every child and family we serve feels valued, empowered, and supported.
The partnerships we’ve built, the volunteers who give their time, the donors who believe in our mission—it all comes together to create a support system that’s making a real difference. That’s what keeps me going, and that’s what makes MSP so deeply meaningful to me.

Growing up and attending schools in South Florida where underserved minorities and low-income students struggled to have access to food shed a light on the disparity of access to healthy meals. It isn’t difficult to align oneself with MSP’s goal to provide food to families so that their children are ready to take on the day and focus on learning. The impact MSP has transcends the classroom and opens up not just conversations but solutions on a larger social scale.

Having dealt with food insecurity myself as a child, it is something that is near and dear to my heart. Working with MSP to assist families secure high quality, fresh food is truly a blessing. As a lifelong educator, I have seen first hand that children cannot learn if they do not have the appropriate nutrition. MSP’s mission is to ensure that doesn’t happen.
